H Wood, Upholsterers and French Polisher were established in Poulton in 1960 by brothers Harry and Terry Wood, the company was taken over by brothers Graham and Ian Wood in 1991 and relocated to Carleton.

The brothers specialise in re-upholstery to all kinds of furniture, suites, chairs, bed heads, caravans, boats and all domestic furnishings. They also use traditional French polishing to restore and refurbish all forms of wooden furniture including tables, dining chairs, occasional furniture, long case clocks,piano’s, stair cases and doors.

We carry out repairs and restoration to both modern and antique furniture.

We also carry out  commercial contracts for the leisure and service industries.

We offer a friendly family based service which includes written estimates, free collection and delivery within the local area, (a small charge made be made for items outside the area). Call outs to view the items within your own home.

We have a large selection of fabric samples from a selection of manufacturers to choose from at our shop in Carleton.

Within the shop we also have for sale a selection of furniture ranging from Leather Reclining chairs to dining suites, occasional furniture, chairs and suites. We sell a selection of Mirrors and Prints, we supply and fit blinds from Rol-Lite blinds also accessories for the home.
